The first lecture in Polish was given in a building of the Wrocław University of Technology on November 15, 1945. Since that time our university has come a long way and is now one of Poland’s best higher educational institutions.

Our work is noticed and appreciated, proof of which is the creation in the city of Krakow of PolandPlus, the country’s first national Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC), under the EU’s European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

The Institute of High Pressure Physics UNIPRESS in Warsaw is famous worldwide for its unique method of high pressure Gallium Nitride (GaN) crystal growth, which has led to the development of the blue laser technology in Poland. The Medical University of Silesia (SUM) has developed a project of a modern Centre for Didactics and Medical Simulation to be established on the campus in Katowice-Ligota. The Centre will be the only institution of its kind in Poland.

University of Silesia in Katowice is one of the largest higher educational institutions in Poland. It has 12 departments: of Arts, Biology and Environmental Protection, Ethnology and Education Sciences, Language Studies, Information Technology and Materials Science, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Social Sciences, Education and Psychology, Law and Administration, Theology and the K. Kieślowski Department of Radio and Television.

Medical University of Bialystok is a public school founded in 1950. Its seat is in the former Branicki Palace, a historic building from the 18th century, the most magnificent and precious historic building in Bialystok. It is located right in the city centre and surrounded by the Palace garden and a vast park. It has a conveniently based campus, comprised of buildings housing the departments of basic medical sciences, clinical hospitals, two dormitories as well as sports and recreation facilities.
