In August, the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE) published recent statistics of European exchanges where the WSE is ahead of the Wiener Boerse in terms of capitalisation and has become the largest exchange in Central and Eastern Europe. In August, the WSE published results of a recent survey of investors structure in exchange trading, showing the highest share of domestic institutional investors in equity trading in the history of research (41 percent).  >>

They include the WSE’s acquisition of shares in the Ukrainian exchange INNEX and the modified strategy of the WSE privatisation presented by the Minister of the State Treasury – the WSE is scheduled to be listed in November 2008.  >>

On 5 August 2008, the German bank DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale with its seat in Frankfurt started operations on the WSE including trading in all securities on its own account. >>

Warsaw, July 30 – talks with the owners of facilities providing accommodation for COP 14 conference were finalized. The guests of the most important climatic congress will not be forced to pay the full amount in advance several months prior to their visit in Poland. As a result of negotiations held by the Ministry of Environment and COP 14 organization team most of Poznań’ hotels and other available accommodations have adopted a unified system of reservations and prepayments. >>
