Mounting problems with the fi ve energy sources used to date (see Table 1) and environmental cleanliness have drawn the world’s attention to the need to rationalise energy use. The „sixth fuel” stands for energy effi ciency or simply energy saving. Importantly, conscious saving is not tantamount to a reduction in living standards but means a wise use of the Earth’s resources.
