CEE Wind Power

2008-06-27
The Opportunities Ahead 4th July 2008, Warsaw, Poland leverage in what promises to be the most exciting marketplace in the coming years! An intensive briefing for the CEE and EU Markets on the CEE Wind Power Industry
REKLAMA

This conference will build on EastEuro Link previous successes in the CEE Energy industry to deliver tangible benefits to your business.

Wind power is the fastest growing energy source in the world. While wind capacity in Central and Southeast Europe is still far less than in Western Europe (compared to Germany and Spain, the Europe’s largest producers of wind power) the region has nevertheless taken a giant leap forward. Wind power is beginning to generate a surge of investor interest in CEE, offering a viable economic solution to a notoriously energy deficient region which desperately seeks to reduce fossil fuel use and Greenhouse gas emissions.

The CEE countries offer widespread potential for on - and offshore wind farms. Many energy companies are now looking into the CEE region, where limited domestic competition, above-average wind supplies, and government subsidies offer high rates of return for players eager to increase their wind portfolios. Production capacity in CEE is pegged to grow by 33% annually to 7.5 gigawatts by 2015, according to industry predictions.

In Poland, considered the most attractive of the Eastern markets because of state support, good wind conditions and the availability of land, the European Commission says the coastal area has potential similar to that of Denmark and the interior of the country similar to that of Germany.

This conference will assess the potential of the entire CEE wind market and whether the region is set to become an area of huge opportunity for investors and banks alike.
