Polyester-glass pipes
PLASTON-P products possess Polish, Czech and Ukrainian certificates of safe application in methane endangered mines.
PRODUCTION PROGRAMME: includes pipes of 100 to 600 mm dia. in 6 metre sections for working pressures up to 4 MPa with flange connections according to PN-EN 1092-1 standards or socket and glued connections.
“PLASTON-P” products are manufactured of slow-burning and anti-electrostatic materials with self-extinguishing time of <= 5 sec. and resistance <=10 (6) Omega, satisfying condition of subterranean mining safety.
PURPOSE OF USING LAMINATED PIPES: to transport water, aqueous solutions and slurry (in mining gallery and shaft pipelines), to transport water in air-conditioning pipelines (preinsulated pipelines), to transport methane and other gases.
PIPE DURABILITY: the company’s experience and information in technical literature forecasts pipe durability of several decades, depending on conditions of usage. That stems from general merits of plastic materials like resistance to corrosion and action of chemicals, resistance to abrasion, absence of growths and also low flow resistance. It is generally accepted that these pipes have a working life substantially exceeding steel.
ECONOMIC ASPECTS
The effectiveness of using these pipes in mining and other industry is the outcome of their above mentioned general merits and also:
• Low costs of transportation compared with steel pipes stemming from their much smaller mass.
• Simplicity of assembly, dismantling and transportation in the mine.
• Simplicity of regeneration at the point of assembly and use, using simple sawing and shaping methods.
• Absence of corrosion and growths and, thereby, substantially longer work life than steel pipes.
• High impact strength, particularly of laminated pipes with internal linings.
• Much smaller pressure drop per length due to their smooth internal surface, which reduces the energy consumed by pumps.
• Excellent thermal insulation properties of preinsulated pipes – 14 to 29% more beneficial than that of traditional preinsulated steel pipelines.
