Multicultural Warsaw
Stołeczna Estrada, a cultural institution of Warsaw and the Warsaw City Council are holding the 4th Cross-Culture Warsaw Festival. This year’s edition of this major festival will take place on September 13 to 21 becoming a complementary event to the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, as 2008 has been declared by the European Commission. The idea of both is to promote respect for cultural differences and mutual dialogue.
REKLAMA

The motto of the Festival comes from a book by Ryszard Kapuściński, ‘Travels with Herodotus’ - “Other worlds and other cultures are mirrors, in which we and our culture see our reflection”.
Most of the festival events will take place in tents set up next to the Palace of Culture and Science. The inaugural concert – ‘World Tangos’ by Roby Lakatos, Tangata Quintet and the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra – will be held in the Warsaw Philharmonic. The program features also The Chinese Broadcasting Orchestra, I Muvrini, Fonó Folk Band, Licorne Theatre, Cinema Theatre, Axe Theatre and screenings of young Austrian film-makers as well as various workshops, discussions, exhibitions and fairs.
