Alior bank enters Poland

Alior Bank, whose main shareholder is Carlo Tassara International, and Allianz Bank Polska have received an operating license upon prior obtaining a permit from the Financial Supervision Commission (KNF) to launch banks in Poland.

Alior Bank’s CEO, Wojciech Sobieraj, said the bank will open several branches in 50 biggest cities in 10 regions. The bank is also planning to open 8 business centres. Ultimately, it wants to run 200 branches and over 400 small franchise units. The break-even point for each branch is expected in 3 years. In the same time-span, Alior Bank is aiming for a 2-4% market share and a customer base of around one million.
Alior Bank will offer retail and corporate services in all market segments which will be available online and through its branches.
