The Ministry of the Treasury would like to inform that the privatisation process of the companies ENEA S.A. and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A. is being conducted in accordance with the “Privatisation Plan for the years 2008 – 2011”, adopted by the Council of Ministers on April 22, 2008.
In line with the intentions of the Ministry of the Treasury, the first stage of privatisation of the company ENEA S.A. by way of the increase of the initial capital of the Company through a new issue on the Stock Exchange, will be implemented in October 2008.
The Initial Public Offering and the first stage of privatisation of the company PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A. by way of the increase of the initial capital of the Company through a new issue on the Stock Exchange, is planned for Q1 2009.
The public offer of shares in ENEA S.A. will result in the increase of the company’s capital by approximately 30%. The offer will be aimed at Polish and foreign investors. The proceeds generated by the public offer will be allocated, in their entirety, for implementation of investment projects.
After completion of the first stage of privatisation of the company ENEA S.A., the Minister of the Treasury intends to sell the entire block of shares in ENEA S.A. held by the Treasury in 2009, which will allow the entitled employees to acquire complimentary shares of the Company.
At the same time, acknowledging the need for building of new capacity, as well as appreciating the importance of new investment implementation in the companies KWB Konin S.A., KWB Adamów S.A. (lignite mines) and Zespół Elektrowni Pątnów Adamów Konin S.A. (power plants) and taking into account the technological and production co-dependence of Adamów and Konin lignite mines with the company Zespół Elektrowni Pątnów Adamów Konin S.A., the Minister of the Treasury intends to conduct the privatisation process of the aforementioned companies simultaneously with the second stage of privatisation carried out in the company Enea S.A.
