The Polish division of BSH, in its Lodz factories, manufactures washing machines, dishwashers and dryers aswell as distributes Bosch and Siemens goods and appliances in Poland. The company records a steady increase of turnover. It totalled more than 2.7 billion PLN in 2007 (approximately 75% of turnover comes from exports). The total value of investments at the end of 2007 amounted to about 175 million Euros. BSH employs more than 1,400 people in Poland.

All such activities have made BSH the leader on the Polish market of household goods and appliances.

Education

BSH invests in the development of technology. Founding the Centre for Dryers Research and Development and the Centre of IT Services serves as the best testimony for such a mission. Observing other activities is the perfect occasion to learn how important education is for BSH – an innovation leader on the household goods and appliances market. BSH is one of the initiators of the “Licence to earn” programme whose aim is to educate mechatronics specialists.



Taking care of the environment

The rules of responsible business are also implemented through taking care of the environment. Constant concern for energy saving by appliances manufactured by BSH is the best proof of that.
To protect natural resources, various other measures are introduced: waste segregation, energy, water and paper saving, sewage tests and strict control over production means (ISO 14001 certificate). Planting oak trees initiated by BSH employees is a symbol of constant care for the environment. A symbolic tree is planted after each one millionth appliance is manufactured at the Lodz factories. The tenth oak tree – a sign that 10 million appliances have already been manufactured in Łódź – was planted on 8 April 2008.
