In the year to July the budget deficit was kept in check.

In the seven months to July 2008 national budget revenue was PLN150.9 billion and expenditure was PLN153.6 billion. The budget deficit reached only PLN2.7 billion, or 9.9% of the total deficit of PLN27.1 billion planned under the 2008 budget law.
