Andrzej Soltan Institute for Nuclear Studies IPJ
The Andrzej Soltan Institute for Nuclear Studies IPJ is a state owned Laboratory located in Świerk 30 km east from Warsaw. It carries out pure and applied research on subatomic physics and technology. It also produces a specialized equipment for various applications (notably for medicine and environmental protection).

A measurable factor of experiments and scientific work conducted at the Institute it is development of sophisticated products like: medical equipment accelerators, simulators computer driven treatment tables measuring equipments e.g. Multi-channel Pulse Amplitude Analyzer TUKAN and many more.
IPJ medical field of expertise has more than 30 years. The Institute is one of a few worldwide producers of equipment for radiotherapy. It offers accelerators, X-ray simulators, therapeutic tables and other necessary accessories for diagnostics and therapy. In the companies treatment line you will find three accelerators - Coline 4, Coline 6 and Coline 10, having the smallest dimensions in comparison to competitive linacs.
Polkam TBI – the price winner
IPJ has developed a sophisticated product for the total body irradiation technique. The unique table enables to prepare patients for bone marrow transplantation. Polkam TBI set includes three sub-assemblies: therapeutic bed, treatment table and laser pointer. The product has won the Polish “Teraz Polska” 2008 price for Innovative Products.

IPJ is planning to complete a project of the Polish Free Electron Laser (FEL) – a source of 100,000 times more powerful pulses than synchrotrons. Its research ability will range from studies of electron properties of molecules to 3D-imaging of atomic structures to registration of physical, chemical and biological processes on the atomic and femtosecond scale. The project is part of European FEL network EuroFEL – EU large scale research infrastructure recommended by ESFRI. POLFEL is to be the core facility of Science and Technology Park in Świerk.
