Mozart Festival opens in Warsaw

The Warsaw Chamber Opera is playing host to the 19th Mozart Festival held from June 15 to July 26. The programme includes all pieces composed by Mozart for the stage, selected lieder, chamber and symphonic pieces, as well as selected oratorios.

The Mozart Festival was first organized by the Warsaw Chamber Opera in 1991 within the framework of Mozart Year commemorating the 200th anniversary of the composer’s death. Stefan Sutkowski, director of the Chamber Opera, was the initiator of the Festival.



Hits of classical music i.e. Figaro’s Wedding, Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute and Requiem are to be performed during the next six weeks. (MP)
