Polish Women's Congress

2009-06-23

The Polish Women's Congress took place in Warsaw on June 20-21. The event was held under the slogan "Women for Poland. Poland for Women". The event was organized with the involvement of top women from Polish public life: economics, politics, business, art and science.

The congress gathered over three thousand women discussing barriers they face in different aspects of both public and professional life.

The list of participants of the Congress included women representing the capital market environment: Maria Dobrowolska (head of the Brokerage House Chamber), Anna Nietyksza (CEO of Eficom), Elżbieta Pustoła (head of the KDPW), Beata Stelmach (head of SEG), as well as Sonia Wędrychowicz -
Horbatowska (deputy CEO of Citi Bank Handlowy).

The discussion met with interest from the audience. Over 60 women declared their interest in participating in trainings regarding the stock exchange to broaden their knowledge on that topic. The Warsaw Stock Exchange intends to launch such courses in short time as a part of education schemes. (WSE)
