Poll: Poles are not afraid of the crisis
According to a poll carried out by IQS & Quant Group commissioned by ING Bank and quoted by Rzeczpospolita daily, two-thirds of Polish citizens have a positive outlook on the future.
40% of the surveyed said they had enough income to cover their expenses and 37% believed their financial situation would improve within 5 years, TVN24 reports.
Pessimists constituted a minority in the polled group – only 4% thought their situation would get worse. One-third of the surveyed said they had no plans for the nearest uncertain future. Also one-third of the polled believed that their financial condition would remain unchanged.
Poles are said to prefer spending money on consumption rather than saving up. Clothes, cosmetics and holiday trips are the popular purchases. Mortgage payments follow up on the list. ‘Comparing Poland and Holland – the country where ING is based – the Dutch seem much more pessimistic than Poles’ Tomasz Bławat, president of ING Poland, told Rzeczpospolita.
