Frost & Sullivan: Wind energy in Poland increasingly profitable
The share of energy from renewable sources in the national electric energy production between 2006-2009 rose by over 3% and now accounts for over 6% of the net electric energy production.
Analysts from Frost & Sullivan indicate that the most significant rise of installed power from among other types of renewable energy sources in Poland can be observed in the wind energy sector. The power of wind parks in Poland rose within last year by 40%, from 544MW in 2008 to 725MW in 2009. The expected increase in 2010 should equal 195MW. According to Frost & Sullivan the dynamic increase of the sector was to a large extent influenced by the accessibility of additional finance sources in Poland and the influx of foreign investors attracted by the high price for the certificates which testify to the generation of 1 MWh of green energy.
